The Legion Beach Hotel hosted a spectacular welcome gala dinner last night for the official launch of the Garuda Indonesia/Garuda Orient Holidays MEGA familiarisation in Bali.

The group enjoyed a buffet of Bali’s delectable cuisine, which was presented as beautifully as a work of art.

Guests were then served beers and Balinese wines- supplied by the sponsors Hatten Wines, Two Islands and Heineken – as they enjoyed the music of a live band.

A sudden tropical downpour was not enough to dampen the spirits of the 51 participating travel agents who have traveled to Bali from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

The opening celebrations concluded with a lucky dip draw, which gave four lucky agents yet another reason to return to Bali, with five-star accommodation package prizes.

Running until this Saturday, the Bali MEGA famil will consist of six different programs, which will cover every major tourist region throughout the country.

Travel agents will be spread across Tuban, Kuta, Legian and Seminyak; the Ubud and Central Bali region; Candi Dasa and East Bali; Lovina and North Bali; the Sanur and Nusa Lembongan region and, Lombok and Gili Trawangan.

Throughout the week, the participating travel agents will take part in a number of hotel inspections in addition to an exciting activity of their choice.

The activities, which have been taken straight from Garuda Orient Holiday’s 2009/10 “Bali on Any Budget” brochure include: white water rafting on the Ayung River, Mountain Cycling on Mt Batur, entry to Waterbom Park, a visit to Taman Bali Safari Park, surfing lessons, Balinese cooking classes, a visit to the Elephant Safari Park in Taro and a round of golf at the Bali Golf and Country Club (Nusa Dua).
