A spate of child-rape events against elementary school girls in Denpasar Bali has triggered angriness amongst parents and children’s groups, who think local government have responded too slowly. Since February this year, five young girls of age between seven and 12 years old have been kidnaped and sexually molested.
The latest case took place last Tuesday, when a 10-year old girl was kidnaped and molested by an unidentified man. The modus of the law-breaking was related to previous attacks. The aggressor picked the girl up from her school in Tanjung Bungkak, East Denpasar, before bringing her to a private area and raping her.
Bali Governor I Made Mangku Pastika was visibly discompose as he spoke to the media, pressing police force to track down those responsible. “I pray the police force to promptly find these hardhearted culprits,” Pastika said, giving law enforcers a one-week deadline to figure out the case. The governor also asked parents and schools to tighten their security to help prevent some similar cases in the future. By The Jakarta Post
